Inclement Weather or Rain on Game Days

For any instance of rain or inclement weather, please monitor the Taylor Little League Facebook page and keep in contact with your participant's coach.

Lightning

As we all know, lightning is nothing to play with.   Taylor Little League board members or coaches will ask all participants to leave the field to seek shelter if lightning is recorded on weather radar, observed visually, or detected by the parks' lightning detection systems. In the event you hear a long siren at Murphy or Bull Branch Parks, please know and perform the following safety procedure:
1) For the first long siren from the lightning detection system (or detection from radar or observed by Taylor Little League), all participants at a minimum will be asked to seek shelter, preferably at a minimum, in their vehicles.  The current game will be delayed for thirty (30) minutes.  If no further lightning is detected or observed, the current game will resume.  Stay in touch with your coach for updates.
2) For the second long siren from the lightning detection system (or detection from radar or observed by Taylor Little League), all participants should remain in shelter, preferably at a minimum, in their vehicles. The current game will be delayed an additional fifteen (15) minutes. Stay in touch with your coach for updates.
3) For the third long siren from the lightning detection system (or detection from radar or observed by Taylor Little League), the current game will be called (if applicable), rescheduled or cancelled. Stay in touch with your coach for updates.
4) For a series of short siren bursts from the lightning detection system, this means lightning has not been detected. Please seek updates from your coach or board members regarding the status of your game.

Rain

As we all know, the weather in Texas can rapidly change from day to day, hour to hour.  Rain can make our playing fields unsafe.  Safety of our kids comes first.  With that said, all Little League organizations are required to have each team play a minimum of twelve games in a season for those participants to quality for All Star selection and play.  Scheduling games with other Little League teams and coordinating times with umpires is a challenging task at the beginning of the year.  To reschedule any game with out of town teams is difficult with other factors such as school activities, other baseball schedules and existing family plans.  We try to hope for the best when there is a chance of rain to play these games but will cancel the game when the weather doesn't allow.  When there is a significant chance of rain, please monitor the Taylor Little League Facebook page and keep in contact with your participant's coach for updates relating to rainy weather and game schedules.

National Weather Service

Keep track of game day weather through the National Weather Service.
